I will share two methods of rooting android 4.0.4 ICS.
Method 1.
Root with restore by bin4ry v24 Download at http://xda-developers.com
Open root with restore
Extract to desktop
Install adb drivers from extracted folder
Open the batch file (bat file) in the extracted folder.
Then follow the instructions given and your device will be rooted in no time.
Method 2.
SRSROOT METHOD
This is the simplest method I have come across
Download srsroot from http://srsroot.com
Install on your desktop, the software requires an internet connection to work.
Connect your device and boot srsroot software
Select easy root from the options given and watch your phone being rooted as easy as that.
